How to measure a horse for a blanket?

The fit of your horse blanket is critical to ensuring your horse’s comfort and preventing friction and blanket sliding. Because horses of the same wither height vary in a range of forms and sizes, it is beneficial to collect specific measurements of your horse.
- Measure from (A) at the center of the chest, across the point of the shoulder, and to (B) at the center of the tail using a soft measuring tape.
- When you have the measurement, remove 4 inches (10 cm) and choose your horse’s size from the table below. Bear in mind that every horse is different and that this table is a guide only. We have many different styles to suit all shapes and sizes.

Warmth of a Horse Blanket
Horseware blankets come in a variety of weights. To make it easier, we’ve created this little temperature scale. A turnout blanket acts as a waterproof insulator layer, helping to maintain condition in cold weather. However be aware that conditions may vary in a short time span. Always ensure your horse is comfortable at all times.
